Start of a New Season!

Well Well Well! The humidity has subsided, the temperatures have dropped, the leaves are turning, and I have laced up my running shoes once again! I'm starting small, and building back up to where I was. As of 3 weeks ago, I was running just under 3 miles and it hurt like the dickens, now I can tolerate a good 3.6 with hills. I am averaging 15 miles a week, with hopes of getting up to about 25. My first run hurt pretty bad because I was so excited and headed out with a bang, which ended up taking me out about 1 mile into it. But I can feel each run getting stronger, my lungs getting used to the work, and my muscles getting used to the pain :) Although I have felt the inklings of shin splints creeping in. I guess I had it coming with a completely healthy 12 weeks last spring. I'm not timing anything yet (although I think I am averaging about 8:50/mile) but here's the rough estimate of the last three weeks:

Week One (10/8-10/12):
Mon, Wed, and Fri: 2.8 miles

Week Two (10/15-10/19):
Mon-Fri: ~3 miles

Week Three (10/22-10/26):
Mon: 2.8
Wed: 3.6 hills
Thurs: 2.8
Friday: 3.6 hills
Saturday: 2.8
