run with sprints of about 200 meters every 3/4ths mile. no stopping
aloud between sprints. two easy days."
This is beginning to make sense to me because I am finding that I can't put in more than a couple of hard days each week without it taking a huge toll. I feel completely spent; even on an easy run. With sprinting I never seemed to have any problem with this but distance really seems to be a completely different animal. It's just so unnatural to give myself an "easy day."
Today I intended to run a medium 5 miles but ended up doing 2.51 with a break and then 2.01 with a half-mile walk for a cool-down.
2.51 - 21:05 (8:24/mile)
2.01 - 16.24 (8:09/mile)
totals: 4.52 - 37:29 (8:17)
