Good News - Bad News

First of all, that is a cool website. It's fun to put in your pr's and see what you could have achieved in other events. Based on a 49 for the 400, I could have run a 4:18 mile and a 1:55 800m. Very cool. Also, your times are progressing nicely. Keep it up and make sure you continue to leave it all on the track (or trail) each and every time you run. I'd say our times are getting to be respectable and with a couple more months of hard work we could get to where it is pretty rewarding.

Today I ran intervals again. I set out to run just under my previous interval times. Hoping it would come out something like this:

200 - 30s
400 - 80s
800 - 3:10
400 - 80s
200 - 30

The good news is that I beat those times. The bad news is that I ran out of gas and couldn't continue after my 800. Actual results:

200 - 29s
300 - 75s
800 - 3:04

I need to learn to hold back a bit on these intervals. I am still used to just gunning it when I'm on the track and my body isn't ready for it. I think the workout was productive; my heart-rate was very elevated for 20 min and my muscles are fatigued in a way that I don't get running miles.
