A New Trail

Yesterday I tried out a new place to run. I had been looking for a good trail with mile markers and was having a hard time of it. It turns out there's one just down the street from our house. It runs through a nature preserve (which I knew was there I just didn't know there were marked trails) and it is beautiful. It's almost eleven miles to the end which almost makes it a marathon round-trip that passes through trees and bayou pretty much the whole way. Today I just ran to the second bridge and back which amounted to about 5.2 miles. Since this was a new adventure I didn't time it but I was pretty tired afterwards and my calves are still a bit sore so it was a good workout. I'd like to get to the track today and do some interval work but the weather isn't looking to cooperate. We'll see.
