Out With the Old, In With the New

I bought these New Balance 704's right before my Chabot Cross Country season. I figure they have traversed some 300 or so miles, including hiking, trail running, track running, street running, treadmill running, tennis, and numerous other sports participations. I love them and will probably never throw them away.


However, in the interest of bone and joint health I decided to invest in another pair of NB's. I discovered sometime last year that the 704's are discontinued and when I walked into the store today and told the worker about them, she gave me a complete blank stare. She then proceeded to measure my foot, both length and width, and then watched my gait. I doubt she really new what she was looking at, but it made me (and her) feel better. I tried on my first pair, which was the aesthetic shoe of choice, but alas it lacked in front foot support. Then the second pair came and I was sold...



I also bought a pair of running shorts. I needed some that wouldn't creep up, or down, and that wouldn't give me mid-thigh tan lines. AAAnd, the price was right at 6.99 (in the Girl's section of course!)
